Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 Fahrenheit. This temperature will allow us to get a soft chewy center with a nice crisp edge.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together butter, vanilla, and sugar until you get a pebbly texture. You can choose to do this with a spatula but I typically use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment.
  3. Add in the baking powder and soda, flour, salt, eggs, and chocolate chips. Using your hands or a spatula, mix together until you have a ball of dough with no visible clumps of flour.
  4. Form 12 equal sized balls of dough. To form smooth balls of dough you can roll small chunks of dough in the palm of your hands.
  5. Place the 12 balls of dough on a baking sheet then bake at 400 Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes. Make sure to bake one pan at a time to ensure best results. You may notice some moisture in the center of the cookies, but this is completely okay and expected!
  6. Let cool on the tray for at least 5 minutes before removing and placing on a serving tray or wire rack.
