Despite never having downloaded TikTok, this recipe was based on the work of TikToker Dylan Hollis. Peanut butter bread is just one of the many vintage recipes Dylan Hollis has tackled in his various videos and is by far one of my favorites. Wanting to personalize and take this recipe to its next logical level, I turned this vintage recipe into a must have banana bread. If you’re wanting to surprise your friends with a classic recipe turned on its head, then look no further than this.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit and grease a standard 9x5 loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash two bananas thoroughly with a fork before mixing in the peanut butter, milk, and brown sugar using a spatula until homogenous.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and the additions of your choice. I typically use semi-sweet chocolate chips, but walnuts or pecans work just as well. The resulting batter should be fairly thick, but you should still be able to scrap or spoon it out of a bowl with ease.
  4. Pour into a greased 9x5 loaf pan and bake at 350 Fahrenheit for 60-70 minutes. A knife stuck all the way through the middle should come out either clean or with dull crumbs.
  5. Once done baking, let sit in the baking pan for at least 5 minutes before turning out onto a cutting board or wire cooling rack. Let sit for at least another 15 minutes. It will likely not be completely cooled after 15 minutes, but when has that ever actually mattered.
  6. Slice and serve.
